Less than $10 Yemeni Style Arabic Feast via Home Delivery

Deliciously well done Arabic food

After exercising, I often order Arabic food among my favorite foods to fill my rewarding mindset.

Stand lunge home workout
Stretching is a must
Water is life after workout

The fantastic scent of Arab food that arrives after ordering through the delivery app tickles my nose through a plastic bag.

This is the moment that I really can’t stand.

Smell the deliciousness

During MCO(movement control order in Malaysia), I have ordered this Arabic food so many many times via a local Malaysian delivery app called FoodPanda.

My washboard abs on the way

I first place bags of delicious food aside and, as always, never forget to punch my abs muscles after exercise to check them. haha ^^

The essential dishes to the main

Wawoo~~~! look at these deliciousness out of the bags!

The charcoal-grilled chicken marinated in red tandoori sauce is so good, and the lamb cubes fried with tomatoes, green peppers and onions are also delicious.

Every time I order and eat, six out of ten, the flavor, the taste, texture, and aroma of the food are on point. They cook so well delivered to me.

Unfortunately, it is not very consistent.

Freshly made Arabic bread

I tend to order three mains just for two of us, with one lamb dish with a huge Yemeni style mulawah bread, and two grilled half chicken that comes with two freshly made white flour bread, typical round shaped arabic staple type of bread in the middle east. That said, I end up having four pieces of round white bread in total only from the two half chicken.

And I keep this white arabic bread in the freezer for other uses, such as making burritos, pizza dough bases, quesadillas, rolled sandwiches, as wraps for eating, and sometimes for sweet snacks.

Super char grilled chicken

Not to mention that I am a big fan of all kind of arabic style kebab meat as well as roasted and grilled meat, so I keep ordering these delicious looking arabic food every two weeks or so????

Lettuce, onions and tomatoes salad

Even good food has some flaws, wrong timing, ingredients problems, or chef mistakes.

No matter how tasty and good food you order often, you can find some drawbacks. I liked it at first, so I often delivered it to the home and eat it, so I can’t make a comparison. When it comes to salads, the amount is too small. I ordered two sets of chicken, but the salad came in one box.

However, the amount is not doubled, it is too small to eat alone. That means the chopped lettuce, a little onion, and tomato salad is sadly too small. If you order two sets of barbecue chicken each, this is equivalent to one chicken.

Even so, the restaurant sends us a ridiculously small amount in one box, not a salad for two. Literally, if you dip it with a fork at once, it will disappear immediately. I couldn’t hide the frustration that all vegetables simply disappear. So, in the end, I have to make my own salad and prepare it.????

Reheating the Yemeni mulawah bread

And the Yemeni malawah bread that I really like is always delicious and has a surprisingly savory and nutty taste thanks to the heaps of sesame seeds sprinkled on the surface.

Also, what I really like about this traditional Yemeni bread is its incredibly crispy texture, like dried maple leaves.

For me, when I fold or cut the colossal size of malawah bread, its crunchy sound delights my ears and always keeps me happy. And a lot of white and black sesame seeds are falling on my kitchen shelves and on the floor, so many of them have fallen all over the place, so I always pick them up and eat them again.

This time the mulawah bread is completely ripped off with lots of holes and burnt

As already mentioned earlier, this malawah bread is also not delivered consistently. Sometimes it is difficult to eat because it is too thick or burned unevenly. Especially in the last order, about half of the bread was burned and completely torn, and several pieces fell off as soon as it was taken out of the bag.

Mulawah bread

Regardless, each time I put my malawah bread on a frying pan, I eat it after reheating. The bread needs to be warm to be delicious, and after reheating it becomes very crispy, so I can enjoy it according to my taste. And thanks to the many sesame seeds, it still retains the savory taste, making it an attractive bread at all times.

I really like the unique and delicious lamb dishes, especially the Arab style lamb dishes. So I always order one lamb dish in addition to the grilled chicken. As you can see in my photos, this lamb cooked in tomato sauce is very tasty and most of the time, except for once, won’t disappoint me.

But, unfortunately, in the last order, it was clear that the lamb dish was much more greasy, as well as burnt malawah bread. It’s easy to see that the amount of lamb is much less, there is more of the greasy and muscley part of the meat, and also much more of the onion is in the oily sauce at the bottom.

Lamb cooked in tomatoes and green peppers

Also often they forget to serve the requested Sahawiq chili(Yemeni chili dipping) sauce.

Still, one of the main reasons I always order from Zahra hadramawt is because I love the Sahawiq sauce so much.

So, if I place orders at a restaurant often, it is inevitable that I often see inconsistent menu contents. Unfortunately, this Arabic restaurant here is no exception. So, in this last order, it is true that I was really upset because I was not satisfied with everything before eating.

Yemeni Mulawah and Arabic bread

As a frequent customer, despite my recent unpleasant experience, it’s one of a few Arabic restaurants that exist in my area, and thanks to the good value for money, I re-order and enjoy this Yemeni-style Arabic food when cravings over time since my first order. It is highly recommended.????

I hope it helps when you watch my video and place an order from the menu through a local delivery app.

It is recommended to write down the specific details like me when ordering.
